Movie Storyline
Throughout history, tales of chivalry have burnished the legends of brave, handsome knights who rescue fair damsels, slay dragons and conquer evil. But behind many a hero is a good-for-nothing younger brother trying just to stay out of the way of those dragons, evil and trouble in general. Danny McBride and James Franco team up for an epic comedy adventure set in a fantastical world-Your Highness. As two princes on a daring mission to save their land, they must rescue the heir apparent's fiancée before their kingdom is destroyed. Thadeous (McBride) has spent his life watching his perfect older brother Fabious (Franco) embark upon valiant journeys and win the hearts of his people. Tired of being passed over for adventure, adoration and the throne, he's settled for a life of wizard's weed, hard booze and easy maidens. But when Fabious' bride-to-be, Belladonna (Zooey Deschanel), gets kidnapped by the evil wizard Leezar (Justin Theroux)...

User Review:

Not the disaster I had heard it was...... , rated: 4/10
Prince and huntsman Fabulous (James Franco) and his brother (including Danny McBride) help Natalie Portman fight the evil wizard Leezar (Justin Theroux).

This film has a very bad reputation. Critics hated it and it was a financial disaster at the box office. I can't figure out why. It's not perfect but it's not horrible. The bad things in it: McBride' Irish accent makes some of his dialogue unintelligible; the scripts dialogue is aimed at kids; the character of Thundarian (Deobia Oparei) is introduced--and then disappears for an hour!; ditto with Isabel (Natalie Portman); the treatment of Deschanel is horrible (and she acts very lost in this movie); there are some really strange kinky touches such as Brides almost being tortured, Portman's pointless "Robin Hood" scene and Durant's bath and having Anjelica Pleasence in the film...and giving her NO dialogue! The good: With the exception of Portman the cast is having a whale of a time (McBride especially is enjoying himself); it's fun to see James Franco so young and full of life; there's plenty of action (with some great sword fights); it's very lavishly produced and there's a rousing music score as good as anything this side of Bollywoodland.

Basically it's a fun way to kill of 100 minutes--I was never bored.

This is one of Hollywoods many failed attempts to revive the Knight N' Kings movie. Through the 1980s and 90s they gave us --"The Island", Polanski's "Pirates", "The Pirate Movie" and "Cutthroat Island". All big budget bombs. Maybe Hollywood should give up (I'm not counting "Pirates of the Caribbean"--that was not a movie-it was slapstick ala the Keystone Kops.) Worth catching.
